I love this pan for grilling steaks, shrimp, salmon, and chunky veg mixes. I never wash it with soap - just rinse in hot water, dry with a paper towel and re-season with a little bit of vegetable oil. Here is a trick to keep the bottom of the pan free of that stuck-on residue. Pour coarse salt into the pan, just enough to coat the bottom and about half way up the grill grate. Add a little vegetable oil to moisten the salt so that it stays put. Oil the grate and heat up the pan. After cooking scrape out the salt and rinse in the usual way - no stuck-on gunk at the bottom.
