I cook on a Big Green Egg and I have two of these DOs. Aside from all the normal stuff a DO will do I use mine for baking no-knead bread as mentioned in the literature. I invert the unit and place the upturned lid on a baking stone, put the loaf in the lid, then use the base as the top. This allows for easy handling of both dough and CI and quick removal of the base for final browning.
Another thing I like a lot are the two "dog ear" handles. This easily allows the lid to be used as a skillet inside the Big Green Egg which is round and limits space for a skillet with a standard handle. I do have larger Lodge Skillets with the handle sawed off when I am cooking a large quantity, but the lid for this DO fits nicely in my small BGE . It is my "go-to" skillet for most cooks.
